My humble little blog has only been live for a month and a half and I've got a Best from 2016 list to share! I am so grateful for all the support I have received and am excited about the year ahead. I love sharing what I love to do and I am thrilled that my enthusiasm is reaching others.
The New Year is here and it's a time to reflect on the previous year and think to the days and months ahead. Here is a reminder of some things that were good from 2016...why not make a resolution to spend a day in your kitchen creating the Best From 2016 in 2017?
This "Best from 2016" list is based on the most viewed recipes from my A Day In the Kitchen. Have you tried making any of these recipes yet? And if not, don't you think it's about time you did?
Chewy Brazilian Cheese Bread
Also known as Pao De Queijo, Chewy Brazilian Cheese Bread is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I like to make them in place of plain old boring dinner rolls, or as part of brunch. They also go great alongside a bowl of hot tomato soup, or as an after school snack for the kids.
Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies are my go-to favorite cookie. They have that bought-fresh-from-the bakery look about them and the taste is amazing. Golden and crispy along the edges, soft and chewy right in the middle. No funny business with this cookie...just simple and basic and oh so yummy.
Flourless Chocolate Chip Brownies
Flourless Chocolate Chip Brownies are gluten-free, refined-sugar-free, and oil-free, but they are not yummy-free! I'm still not quite sure how all this works, but it does! All the ingredients (minus the chocolate chips) are thrown into the blender for the easiest of preparations. What bakes up is a pan of amazingly rich chocolaty brownies perfect for that sweet treat.
Sweet Potato Broccoli Bacon Quiche
Thin slices of layered sweet potatoes take the place of a wheat crust in this Sweet Potato Broccoli Bacon Quiche. A gluten-free recipe that is loaded with flavorful fillings and rich in vitamins and nutrients. It is a perfect one dish meal.
Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Say goodbye to dry, boring, cardboard pizza crust! This Cauliflower Crust Pizza is an awesome replacement for wheat-based pizza crusts. Tasty and tender, it holds together perfectly to support your favorite pizza toppings.
Simple Nutty Granola
This Simple Nutty Granola is so good with ice-cold milk, or as a topping to your favorite yogurt. Made simply of oats, nuts, oil, and maple syrup, I have been making this granola recipe for almost 20 years! It is a favorite in my family and with friends, and is a perfect way to start your day off right.
Oh-So-Good Chicken Vegetable Soup
Oh-So-Good Chicken Vegetable Soup is rich and filling and perfect for "getting back to basics". Full of good ingredients and an amazing depth of flavor, it is a basic soup that will warm and soothe you, especially if you feel like you've been over-indulging.
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
If you need a chocolate fix, these Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies will do the job. Like the Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, they are made of simple ingredients and are crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. A cookie (or two) will satisfy your chocolate craving, and friends won't complain if you decide to share these little gems.
Cheers to you for 2017!
