This recipe draws inspiration from raita, the creamy sauce that is often served with Indian food, as well as Mediterranean tzatziki. It is a yogurt-based sauce that is deliciously easy and a welcome addition to many dishes!

  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Half a lemon
  • Cumin
  • Salt

Remove the mint leaves from the stems. Finely chop the mint leaves

A round white bowl contaiing white yogurt, chopped green herbs, white salt and brown spice.

Combine the Greek yogurt, chopped mint leaves, lemon juice, cumin, and salt in a bowl and mix well.

Serving Suggestions

As I mentioned, this yogurt mint sauce is incredibly versatile! I always make it to go with my Rice Cooker Chicken Biryani. The sauce goes perfectly with the fluffy rice and tender chicken and its cool creaminess nicely balances the heat and spice!

A white round dish containing brown rice and chicken topped with a white sauce.

The sauce also goes great with grilled chicken or salmon. I do a simple broiled salmon seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder and again, the tangy yogurt mint sauce adds a "brightness" to the dish! Try it with chicken, lamb, or beef skewers! Use it as a sauce in your homemade hamburgers!

A round plate containing a fork, green salad topped with black olives, crumbled white cheese, chickpeas, and a cooked salmon filet topped with white yogurt sauce.

It also makes a great topping for vegetable dishes like Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower Steaks or Roasted Cabbage Steaks!

And in a pinch, this sauce also makes a great salad dressing! Drizzle it over a a bowl of chopped cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, and onions for a Mediterranean-inspired salad!

Finally, you can't go wrong using it as a veggie dip! Who needs boring Ranch dip when you can have a much more refreshing yogurt mint dip?

  • Creamy Greek Yogurt Cucumber Tzatziki
  • Buffalo Cauliflower with Feta Dip
  • Roasted Garlic Spinach Artichoke Dip
  • Chicken Skewers with Thai Curry Dipping Sauce

There really isn't any reason NOT to make this yogurt mint sauce! It's delicious, can be eaten with a variety of foods, and is a breeze to make! It will become one of your favorite homemade condiments to whip up!
