Super Simple Basic Guacamole

JUMP TO RECIPE

I think there are some basic things that everyone should know how to whip up in the kitchen...pasta, eggs, rice...and a good basic guacamole!

At its most basic level, all you need are four ingredients: avocados (DUH), lime juice, salt and pepper.

That's it.

Of course, that is not the ONLY way to make guacamole, but these ingredients lay the foundation to whatever you want to add to it to make it your own!

Customize the basic guacamole by adding chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, jalapeno peppers, spices...there are so many ways to make it your own. I've even seen some versions with pineapple for a touch of sweetness!

I, personally, love a basic guacamole. I often eat it with salsa anyway, and love the simplicity of it with salty tortilla chips. I also happily eat it with fried eggs for an extra healthy breakfast (or lunch...or dinner...)!

And don't forget it's a necessary condiment to your favorite Mexican food! I love to put a healthy dollop of it on my Carnitas Fiesta Bowls!

Four ingredients is all it takes and it comes together in less than 5 minutes! Leave it at that, or customize it with your favorite ingredients and get ready for dipping! It's so simple, you'll never buy pre-made guacamole again!
